- Vect Integration allows to edit your configuration files in GitHub directly through The Vect App.
- Any edits done through Vect app are being synced to your GitHub repository via Pull Requests.
- Vect keeps your existing code governance by leveraging pull requests. Rest assured - Vect doesn’t deploy changes directly to your main branch. This ensures code protection.
- When the GitHub main branch is updated, it will update Vect’s parameters to keep it in sync with the specified files and directories.

💡 Vect doesn’t affect your engineering workflow in any way, as it leverages pull requests.

Installation
The Vect GitHub app is 1-click-install. Ensure to give permissions to the relevant repository (see more information below).
- Upon navigating to Vect Integration click the ‘Install’ button
- Choose the targeted organization
- Check-box “Only select repositories”
- Select the target repositories from the drop-down multi-select
- Click ‘Request’
- Only a Github owner can approve an integration request
- To see who are the owners of your GitHub Repository you can navigate to your ‘Organization Name’ > ‘People’ > ‘Role’ > choose ‘Owners’

- It is important no note that Vect requires minimal permissions - Read access to metadata & Read/Write access to code (solutions like mend/Snyk require these and more)
